George Zimmerman's Website Raised $200,000

Remember when George Zimmerman sought donations from his website? You know, the one that looked like it was designed in the mid-’90s, and that proudly featured a photo from a vandalized black community center? Turns out Zimmerman raised $200,000.

Zimmerman’s lawyer Mark O’Mara appeared on Anderson Cooper 360, where he said that he just learned about the money on Wednesday and will inform a judge Friday. Zimmerman has shut his site down — he’s been barred from engaging in any social media — but O’Mara said he will start a new defense fund for his client.

O’Mara admitted that if the judge had known about the $200,000 Zimmerman raised, Zimmerman’s bail might have been set higher than $150,000. The defendant, who faces second-degree murder charges for shooting Trayvon Martin, was released from jail earlier this week after paying 10 percent of the bail.

So I asked him where it’s written that black people are allowed to live off of welfare for their whole life. Because everyone can, and everyone does. And there are more white people on welfare than black people. Also, this coming from the biggest leech on society with a job. I’m sorry, but being a celebrity publicist is not necessary and in no way benefits anyone but you and the celebrity. And a D-list publicist as well. If he wants to talk about people leeching off society, he should probably get a real job that contributes to it first.

She showed me. This level-headed response was the guiding light to discovering that any cultural appropriation of clothing or accessories will automatically result in a person experiencing rape, or murder. Good to know! 

I’m so glad that there is social justice warriors on Tumblr really doing their part to eradicate racism and prejudice by calling complete strangers “fucking fucks” and appending small gifs to very short essays that imply that wearing a bindi gives explicit cultural permission to RAPE and MURDER and ABUSE. 

That’s not fucking alarmist and presumptuous at all. Surely, things like broken prison systems that disproportionately process POCs and the lower class aren’t anywhere near as rage-inducing as Forever 21 selling a “Native-inspired print dress”.
